I guess it’s about time I passed along some news? Well there really isn’t all that much. I’ve been playing the Open Mics just about every week … I missed February 9. This week was really good … I felt like I sang and played very well and wish I had a recording. The audience was very attentive and quite large for what I have been encountering. I didn’t hang around long because Cecily and I were both tired and needed to get home and go to sleep. It was still after 1 before we got to …

As some of you know, I have started recording “Two Sides Of The Same Soul,” and, as of today, have completed track 1: “A Dream.” So far everyone who has heard it has really liked it, and it is honestly my highest quality recording to date. It sounds very good, and somehow still maintains the feel of the original demo. I am very pleased with it. I’m not sure when I will continue with the rest of the album, but I’ll let you know as I make progress. I’m guessing I’ll be ready to release it by late summer–I am putting a lot of attention to detail into these recordings. I want them to be as perfect as possible … after all I am eventually going to want radio airplay of them.

Anyway the lofi of “A Dream” is up so you should check it out. Until next time …

Hey guess what! I finally have … well sort of … performance news. I am going to play (or at least go to — play if I don’t chicken out) at the open mic night at Coalie Harry’s in Winchester on Thursday night. Come listen to me. If I record it I might post the lofis.

Oh yeah … and for any of the rest of you … take a listen to at least one of my songs. Most people would recommend Lucky Town, but there are lots to choose from. If you want a suggestion, email me — I’ll help you out, or sign up to my forums (FREE of course) and discuss it with some more of my fans. As always, thanks for stopping by. 🙂

I had mentioned that I might take the forums offline to a few people, but I think it’s better to just leave them in place — at least for now. Maybe some of you newbies will take advantage of them (hint hint) !

As for other news, I made a new recording of “Disillusionment” and, well, it rocks. I will probably make a few changes to it, but the preliminary recording is now available. Also, for some reason I still didn’t have the right version of “Pieces” up, but it is now. Take a listen — I would greatly appreciate some feedback.

More good news! My song The Man was selected to air in the third set (of three) Sunday night on U92’s broadcast of WVU Songwriter’s night. Again, the show will air Sunday October 30 at 4pm EST on 91.7FM Morgantown, WV. You can also listen to the webcast at http://u92.wvu.edu.

Finally, I have good news to share all around. First of all, the songwriter’s show I played in on Friday went very well, except that I skipped one line in “The Fish,” and I played a little fast. Otherwise, the performances I think were some of my best. I am pretty sure I’ll get at least one song on the show next Sunday. (It will be played at 4pm, 91.7FM U92 Morgantown–Listen to the webcast!) I have put lofis of the tape recordings I made up for you to listen to (please excuse the quality). You will find them on the individual song pages. (I played “The Bird,” “The Fish,” and “The Man.”

Also, I have new pictures because finally I got someone to take pictures of me at a show. Now that section of my site doesn’t seem so worthless. You may have also noticed that I added two new features to my site. You can now scale the web page to give you more visibility if you are using a higher resolution, and I have made a theme option so if you don’t like my color scheme, you can use another. I am having difficulty coming up with theme options too so if you have an idea, please let me know and I will add it.

The biggest news, however, is that Unnatural CDs are now on sale. Check out the Purchase CDs section of this site for information on how to get your copy !

Well here I am again, bearing inconclusive news to my adoring masses. Unnatural is almost ready to go. All of the CDs are printed, the booklet is completely designed, the artwork is done, the music is rockin. However, I am having difficulty with printing the booklets. As it turns out, it takes a lot of precision to print, cut, and fold the booklets correctly (or acceptably) so I am waiting on the price of professional printing.

One quote I got was $600 for 100 booklets, which is way out of my price range. The second one I am still waiting for, but assuming it is as bad, I will just have to do what I can do with what I’ve got, meaning the paper will probably be somewhat subpar for the first booklets. This is not really my concern, however. I want the books to be folded very well and cut at least pretty close to perfectly, and this presents a challenge, as I have stated.

Anyway, I have a new lofi up of “Pieces” because I decided I needed to start doing some recordings of my new stuff, if for no other reason than to get a record of what the songs are supposed to sound like. I am being pulled in many different ways on my projects. Coupling that with the amount of other projects I have involved myself in lately, I just can’t seem to make any progress to myself. As for Self-Titled, I really don’t like the songs, and that pretty much drives me to ignore my other albums.

Long story short, not much has changed, but I am working on something. Oh, and pretty soon “The Abortion Prophecies” will return to this page. Lucky you …

Well … what to say what to say. I am having difficulty getting motivated on rerecording It All Comes Out and Triad, just because I am not completely sure I am happy with the remastered “Hell” and I’m waiting for a well defined plan to hit me. Basically, it boils down to “I’m not sure where to start.” I feel like I might even need to rerecord Heaven and Hell and that is a cumbersome thought, and I worry that they might turn out better than even Unnatural.

In new album news though, great things are coming of “Jeremy Tharp.” Of the 11 songs I have done, if I can manage to record the vocals as well as I sang all of the songs today, and get snazzy arrangements to boot, that album will be nothing short of spectacular. Let us cross our fingers.

In Unborn news, we should be getting at least one cut done on Sunday (cross your fingers or toes or nipples) for your listening pah-leasure, pleasure yeah. So I bid thee all a fair adieu, and don’t hurt your nipples.

In almost ever respect of the term, I am experiencing severe writer’s block at the moment, so the web page and my songwriting have suffered. I’m making very little progress on Heaven and Hell, no pun intended, but I am still working on it. On April 3, I am planning to play a Songwriter’s show in the Mountainlair in Morgantown, so maybe that will get me some news. Who actually reads this anyway eh? 🙂

I have decided to start looking for permanent music position as well, so hopefully there will be good news in that department soon too.
