Periodical acoustic podcast: Country Roads by John Denver on acoustic

I know I said these would be approximately weekly, but I already had this one done — we played this song at the jam session this afternoon at the VFW in Wardensville.  I came home and recorded it — liked the recording, so I thought I’d upload it too.

The song for this post is “Country Roads” originally done by John Denver.

Again, this is just me on my acoustic, in my studio, recorded on my Sony ICD-SX700 digital voice recorder, no modifications other than trimming at the beginning and end.

There’s not much to say regarding my personal workings, but in a current session with Unborn we took a little fun time to record an impromptu album just for kicks. Their drummer, Justin, couldn’t hang around for the recordings, but, someone _philled_ in and, as it turns it, it may have been one of the epic recording sessions of all time. I compiled it into part of my albums section for this page because it is just cool–something a little less pedantic than my usual stuff, and a hell of a lot more fun.

Anyway, the album is titled “The Abortion Prophecies” and has six tracks. The songs are on the album in the order they were recorded, and they are all single takes–no practicing or rehearsing at all (as if that weren’t obvious.) We wrote and recorded the whole album in a little under an hour. If the lyrics and lo-fis aren’t up already, they will be soon. Enjoy.
